Recommended Currency Pairs for Robominer Pro to Trade

Postby rmarcj » Fri Jan 15, 2010 12:02 am

I am planning to purchase the Robominer Pro and understand that it is capable of trading currency pairs beyond aud/nzd and eur/chf. Can someone recommend 3 or 4 currency pairs that would be great for the Robominer Pro to trade that would prove to be profitable and not wipe out an account. Thanks!!

Thanks for the reply and I did already read that post. I realize that it is ultimately up to me to decide the currency pair(s) that I plan to trade. My question is rooted in an assumption. Based upon what I have already read on this forum, people have started trading other currency pairs. Given that, I am simple wondering, based upon their experiences, if anyone can share with me the currency pairs that they have already found to be working for them. Thanks!!

Please be completely aware that this is very risky!! But, this is what I have been doing:

I trade the EURUSD with a 60 month look back. I go for 9 pip TP and have about 490 ranges. Then, I create another EU chart and "fool" the robot to go against the first chart. However, I only look for 5 pip TP on these. I also turn the 2nd one on and off, depending on trend. Keep in mind that this hedge strategy is on a much narrower range. My lot size is .01 on both but I have increased it at times when I am sitting in front of the terminal and are feeling pretty confident about direction (breakouts, break of Trendlines, etc.). To add to this craziness, I change my Magic Number frequently. By doing so, I certainly maximize profits but I also can create quite the problem if I am not careful. If I get the feeling that I am getting a bit stretched, I place a pending order that would halt the distruction (but also produce profits). This type of strategy is NOT for the newbie nor is it really recommended at all to anyone. It is just what I do and I have thought it out. If you get to the point of understanding the downsides, or want to try this craziness on a demo, great.

Be very cautious!

Hello,

I have recently started using Robominer Pro on my live account trading only AUD/NZD. I want to trade on EURUSD pair. Can anybody tell me how to change the robominer settings I mean what values I need to enter on the EA other than changing the magic no?

Thank you...

You need to place the EA on a EURUSD chart or whichever pair you wish to trade. You then need to decide the range of that pair you want to go with to open trades. Your top and bottom doesnt have to be the historical limits.

You do need to calculate the impact of the pair moving from your first opening trade to the limit you set and beyond if greater to the historical limit. You may wish to add some insurance margin on top.

Thank you very much for your answer. I was not sure is it safe to EURUSD pair at the moment or do you believe any other pairs recommended?

Thank you...

The only other one that has been mentioned is gold.
If you look at most pairs their upper and lower historical ranges are greater. That increases risk.

Interesting approach. What kind of results have you seen?

Phil

Michael

Does anyone have a live statement for gold in the past 3 months?
